Difference between JFET and MOSFET

Following are the JFET (junction field effect transistor) and MOSFET (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor) .

JFET MOSFET
The JFET stand for junction field effect transistor. MOSFET stand for metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor.
JFET does not form the capacitance at the channel. It forms the capacitor between channel and gate.
JFETs can only be operated in the depletion mode. MOSFETs can be operated in either depletion or in enhancement mode.
It has two p-n junctions. MOSFET have only one p-n junction.
It has high input impedance. It has very high input impedance.
JFET is good for low noise application, low capacitance and high resistance input. MOSFET is good for high noise application, switching application etc.
It has no reverse body diode. It has reverse body diode.
JFET does not have insulated gate. MOSFET have insulated gate structure.
Drain resistance Rd is lower. Drain resistance is higher.
