Advantages and disadvantages of mesh storage CRT (cathode ray tube)

There are some advantages of mesh storage CRT (cathode ray tube) which are given below,

• The mesh storage CRT has a higher bandwidth.
• It has a high speed operation.
• The transients can be easily captured and stored.
• The waveform stored is independent on the phosphor persistence.
• The image can be retained on the screen for a longer time.
• A fixed display is obtained, still for low frequency signals.

There are some disadvantages of mesh storage CRT (cathode ray tube) which are given below,

• The CRT is more expensive and its replacement is not economical.
• The analog storage is less versatile.
