Difference between lap winding and wave winding

Lap winding is suitable for low voltage and high current generator. Wave winding is suitable for high voltage but a low current generator.
No. of parallel path the armature= mp(where m is a multiplicity of winding and P = no.poles) No. of parallel paths = 2m
For same emf generation, lap winding requires large no. of conductors. For same emf generation, wave winding requires less no. of conductors.
So cost is more. so cost is less.
More utilization of space in armature slot Less utilization of space in armature slot
Commutator pitch Yc=+ 1. commutator pitch Yc where YA is an average pitch.
Back and front Pitches are odd of the opposite. Both pitch YB and YF are odd and off same sign.
