Difference between mesh storage CRT and phosphor storage CRT

Following are main difference between mesh storage CRT(Cathode ray tube) and phosphor storage CRT(Cathode ray tube)

Mesh storage CRT Phosphor storage CRT
The Mesh storage is appropriate for intensity modulation and variable persistence operation. The phosphor storage is not appropriate for intensity modulation and variable persistence operation.
The material used for storage target and display target is same. It is used general P1 phosphor for storage as well as display target.
A dielectric material deposited on the storage mesh act as a storage target. A thin layer of phosphor acts as both the storage and the display elements.
There is no possibility of reduction in the light output with its use. It is susceptible to reduction in the light output with its use.
In mesh storage continuous persistence control is possible. In phosphor storage continuous persistence control is not possible.
The comparison of previous and present waveforms is not possible. The previous and present waveforms can be compared, due to split screen feature.
Relatively Long CRT life. Relatively short CRT life.
