The earthen, gravel, water bound macadam and bituminous roads are also known as flexible pavement because the surface takes the shape of sub-surface soil.

Cement concrete roads are also known as pavements because of their shiftiness and their capacity to bridge over loose soil pockets in the sub grebe. Due to shiftless and thickness, there are no ups and concrete roads.
