What is energy conservation

Energy conservation simply means to reduce the growth of energy consumption by avoiding unnecessary usage of energy.

Conserving energy helps the planet and saves money—so why don’t more people make the effort to do it? Maybe they don’t realize how easy it is or what an impact they can make on the environment by following simple conservation tips. If each person around the world did just one thing to save energy, it would make Earth a cleaner place with a healthier environment.

An example in day to day life which takes care of energy consumption is switching off unnecessary ON light, fans, etc. of daily usage when not needed.
Energy conservation can  be a result of various processes or upshots such as :

  • Increased productivity
  • Advancement in technology

One should not get confuse with energy conservation and energy efficiency.
Energy efficiency is achieved when energy intensity is reduced without affecting output.
In multiple ways, it is possible to contribute to energy conservation, for example :

  • Walking the bike can be preferred over using a car wherever possible.
  • When it comes to purchasing new appliance for household purposes preference should be given to energy efficient ones.

Energy efficiency is an important aspect that leads to energy conservation.

Energy efficiency come up with energy conservation hence it is always promoted as an integral part of strategies for energy conservation.Energy conservation is an exercise to reserve fuel, oil or gas  or any energy sources so that it can be set to further use for additional productivity without spending extra  money or resources.
